Midwest Surge Training Page
Many baseball programs do not involve weight training or dieting when they develop their players. It is believed by some that baseball isn't physical and that it doesn't require endurance, and thus a training regimen isn't necessary. This belief is incorrect.
While collecting repititions in more baseball related activities is important, it should not be the area of focus. Training one's baseball specific muscles is among the best ways to improve bat speed, agility, foot speed and arm strength. Futhermore, it improves players' endurance (especially pitchers), and helps prevent injury. Midwest Surge's innovative approach to improving each player physically during the Winter directly results in an improvement of play on the baseball field during the Summer.
Midwest Surge Dietary Program
Midwest Surge encourages its players to partake in the Midwest Surge Dietary Program. The University of Utah's Baseball Nutrionist Eric Finley has been employed by the Midwest Surge to create a dietary program which will allow players to receive maximum results following their weight training. This program is private and thus cannot be posted publicly, but is available for all Midwest Surge players.
Midwest Surge Personal Trainer
Baseball Specific Team Weight Training
Each Winter, Midwest Surge players are invited to do baseball specific training. The routine is extremely rigourous, and players pushed to their maximum physical capabilities by our certified trainers. By the end of this training, players come out in substantially better shape having developed baseball specific muscles. This training also serves as a way of uniting Midwest Surge teams, as players work
with and push their teammates to meet their goal.
